At least your kids won’t eat these crayons
Aug 31st
Someone has created educational chemistry crayons, which are labeled with the actual chemical used to give each one its hue. If Crayola picks this up, at least parents don’t have to worry about kids eating the crayons, like what happened when the scented ones were introduced with smells like “orange,” “banana” and “grape.”
Comfort foods for different moods

We all get the typical chocolate and ice cream combo for a bad day, but how about a big presentation or a good workout? There are foods for those times too. Studies show that a shot of espresso an hour before a workout increases endurance. After that workout, indulge in some chocolate milk to repair and strengthen muscles. Some oatmeal and oranges are great when feeling nervous, as this keeps blood sugar stable as well as reducing stress hormones. Bananas can make you sleepy like that holiday turkey, so it’s probably the one thing to eat before bedtime.
Less roads signs equals increased safety
Aug 31st
In the town of Bohmte, Germany, all roads signs and traffic lights have been removed in order to make the roads more of a “shared space”. Drivers negotiate their behavior with each other, rather than according to any rules or regulations. Since drivers have to pay more attention to each other than a green light or a road sign, in theory, there will be less accidents. “The many rules strip us of the most important thing: the ability to be considerate. We’re losing our capacity for socially responsible behavior,” said Dutch traffic engineer Hans Monderman in treehugger.com. “The greater the number of prescriptions, the more people’s sense of personal responsibility, dwindles.” Could this work in the United States? Maybe if we went through a couple of courses of road rage management.

Korean product designer giha woo has made a device that attaches to a pen to aid in drawing straight lines without the use of a ruler. The device helps a ballpoint roll in one direction, preventing lines from winding. It also comes with a measurement indicator so users can draw lines at an exact length. Drinking water is always good for the body, right? Well, not exactly. Drinking large amounts of water does not help the kidneys remove toxins from the body, despite popular belief. Lots of water does not equal healthier skin, as the body is already 60 percent water. Just make sure to get enough water everyday. There’s no need to overdo it.

In the early 90s, a lovely girl called Somya from a prominent business house was engaged to marry Mahesh (a scion and inheritor of one of India’s biggest business families). Theirs was to be the marriage of the decade. Somya’s father – Gulshan was the head of the family and managed the joint family business that included his brothers. One of the Gulshan’s younger brothers Sushant was not on good terms with Gulshan and was constantly litigating with him to separate the family assets and split the family fortune. Theirs was a raging bitter battle that had carried on for years.
