The politically correct option
Sep 30th
If you’ve ever underestimated the power of technology and the way it affects our lives, cloud computing could not be a better example. For those who’ve been tracking the outsourcing space, or even following our political poster boy – Obama, you’ll know all the hoopla that has been created around his policy regarding outsourcing. And the recent Ohio state policy against outsourcing just made all this drama even more exciting. In the wake of all this, comes along Cloud computing like little red riding hood and begins influencing political policy.

How many of you have noticed more and more younger folks opting for entrepreneurship over the last 5 years as compared to ever before? And this number is steadily increasing each year. No longer are cozy corporate jobs the big thing. More and more management graduates out of B-schools are getting frustrated with their corporate jobs, even if it is with a fancy investment bank. More folks are suffering from burn-out and are opting to try their own thing. For many folks reading the articles on this website, your 9-6 jobs are no longer their primary source of income. More and more graduates are looking at getting into their own groove and doing their own thing whether it be photography, fashion design, website design, games development, professional blogging, restaurants and much more.
Wrist Watches Running Out Of Time?
Aug 25th
The semiconductor was indeed a major game changer in the market. And it has revolutionized almost every aspect of our lives. And it seems almost every day that an old aspect of our lives is being replaced with something related to the semiconductor. How many of you dreamed of owning an Omega watch?; Flaunting the
Nanotechnology in cosmetics
Aug 15th
When I think of nanotechnology, I somehow always think of really tiny robots or semiconductor devices which enable a really tiny cellphone or something of that order. And being an IT guy, it is somehow tough to think of anything not enabling something in IT. Isn’t that what all the science is for? To make
Only ‘Made in India’
Aug 2nd
I happened to catch the recent edition of GQ Magazine, the India edition which ran a feature on ‘World’s most influential Indians’. About 10 minutes into the feature article, I noticed one thing – while Indians have made waves in almost every field right from comedy, to electronics, to telecommunications to economics and the works.
The Internet Is Killing Dreams In India
Jul 19th
The one great attraction for folks in India to join the IT industry was the all important “on-site” trip. The trip was hallowed as the right of passage for being a worthwhile IT engineer or manager. This meant earning in dollars and saving a lot of money, purchase of the latest electronics while the rest of India still lived in the Stone Age and visiting numerous tourist spots. For those who were not so fortunate to go on-site, the trip meant getting that latest electronics from friends when they return and that all important mixed bag of chocolates. Something about those mini chocolates that makes CEO and engineer alike lose all decency and sulk like kids if they got one less than everyone else. And in country that has grown in leaps and bounds, it is amazing how we’re still in awe of the foreign bound engineer. But the internet and technology are changing all this.
Changing The Way We Experience Music
Jul 12th
I’m pretty sure that most of the modern world is hooked onto the iPod and mp3s and other versions that followed. We all remember the 1st Gen iPod which simply blew most of our minds away with the crispness of quality and the sheer number of songs it could carry. And hence we put to
Technological Philanthropy
Jul 6th
I somehow always associate the word philanthropy with some rich snob who owns a Bentley merely signing out checks to sponsor some fortunate child from Africa who’d ultimately grow up to work in some respected firm and go through a good education while the rest of Africa still mines for diamonds for the daughter of
The Indian Auto Industry- It’s An Electric Future
Jun 14th
The Indian automobile industry finally seems to be waking up to the environment. Major infraction point being Mahindra & Mahindra capturing 52.2% controlling stake of electic car manufacturer – Reva, which will now be known as Mahindra Reva Electric Based Company. Reva was India’s first electric car and did not do too badly for itself.
The Dark Side of the Cloud
Jun 7th
Yes! I am an Avid Pink Floyd fan….and being Indian gives me a birth right to plagiarize the little things in life. Muhahaha! Now that the evil laughter is out of the way, down to business. I’ve been reading a lot about the impending ‘Cloud computing’ revolution in the IT circles. A phenomenon which is supposed to be the next big disruptive technology (after the iPad). In a nutshell for those who don’t quite get what all the hullabaloo is about, here goes.
